Residents' Committee to Protect the Adirondacks

Staff

Kate Gardner is the Foundation Specialist for Residents' Committee to Protect the Adirondacks (RCPA). She has been an RCPA part-time development staff person since 1998, taking a maternity hiatus in 2003. As development coordinator, Kate implemented RCPA's major gift program, revived the annual fund drive, added a spring fund drive, and launched RCPA's endowment fund, as well as securing foundation support and coordinating volunteers. Kate has a BA from Clark University. Her nonprofit work experience includes partnership in a not-for-profit bookstore for 8 years, assistant librarian for the Town of Johnsburg Library and coordinator/grant-writer for the Books to Prisoners Project in Seattle, WA for 6 years.

Jeremy Caggiano, Forester, has been a private sector consultant since leaving University of Maine, Orono in 2002. Jeremy has a Bachelor of Science, Forestry degree as well as undergraduate experience in environmental sciences. He continued on to pursue professional certifications in wetland determination, soil hydrology, and fire behavior. Jeremy has practiced forestry throughout northern Maine, the inland northwest, and in New York State as an industrial forest technician, private sector consultant, and government contractor. He also is an active member in the Society of American Foresters and New York Forest Owners Association. Prior to becoming the staff forester for the RCPA Jeremy focused his energies as owner and operator of Creekside Forestry Services, a forest consulting company, which stove to provide it’s clients with the information and tools necessary to make ecologically sound management decisions. He is very pleased to be able to apply his awareness and education to contribute positively to our environment. Jeremy currently resides in Jay with wife Kristen and enjoys the incredible hiking and backpacking opportunities the Adirondacks provide.
