RCPA
becomes a Patagonia Affiliate
Patagonia
is an RCPA funder who supports a wide variety of environmental programs
throughout the country. Since 1985, Patagonia has been supporting environmental
activism by committing at least one percent of sales or 10 percent of
pre-tax profits—whichever is more—to grassroots environmental
groups. Patagonia gives at the grassroots level to innovative groups
overlooked or rejected by other corporate donors. Patagonia is proud
to fund activists who take radical and strategic steps to protect habitat,
wilderness and biodiversity. They have given more than $20 million to
more than 1,000 organizations since our grants program began.
In 2006, Patagonia launched its Affiliate Program, a creative marketing
program that benefits both Patagonia and the Affiliate organization (ie,
RCPA). Here's how it works: by hosting Patagonia's link on our website,
RCPA is exposing Patagonia and its merchandise to anyone visiting the
RCPA website. In return, RCPA receives a percentage of the sales that
our link generates.
Patagonia figures it is likely that those organizations it funds have
memberships that are also likely to purchase products made by Patagonia.
We think they are probably right! So, you don't have to do anything extra
if you already purchase from Patagonia, but everytime you use the link
on RCPA's home page to make a purchase, RCPA receives a portion of the
sale.
Bottom line: By using the link on RCPA's homepage and TELLING
YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT IT, gives our corporate partner more exposure. By using
the link on RCPA's homepage and then making purchases, makes a gift to
RCPA as well.
RCPA wants to encourage business and corporate partnerships such as Patagonia's,
where the commitment to environmental conservation and activism is clear.
